RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description Vitezslav Humpa 2012-07-26 13:03:29 UTC
Description of problem:
Favourite chat rooms are going to disappear from the Room menu unless you check them for 'Auto Connect' in the 'Manage Favorite' dialog. Auto connecting feature serves to auto open channel in conversation window on empathy start-up. However this should not have influence on when one simply toggles a channel favourite without it being auto-opened. (Meaning you should be able to have favourite channels that are not this semi-persistently connected)

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
empathy-3.4.2.1-1.el7.x86_64

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Join a #channel (IRC or Jabber conference...)
2. Toggle 'Conversation -> Favorite Chat Room' on
3. See the Room menu in the Contact list - channel is there among favourites
4. Close the conversation window
5. See the menu now

Actual results:
Channel is gone from the Room menu

Expected results:
It is still present unless you choose to remove it from favorites

Additional:
Didn't find the same bug upstream yet

Comment 1 Debarshi Ray 2012-10-31 15:26:53 UTC
Confirmed. This behaviour exists in 3.6.1 too.

Comment 3 Debarshi Ray 2013-11-01 16:24:31 UTC
Has been fixed in recent versions of empathy-3.8.x that are in RHEL7. Please feel free to reopen if you have reasons to believe otherwise.

Comment 5 Matěj Cepl 2013-12-13 18:51:27 UTC
Cannot reproduce with empathy-3.8.4-3.el7.x86_64

Debarashi, can I ask for review of https://tcms.engineering.redhat.com/case/327426 ... it is a proper test for this bug?
