Description Samuel Ortiz 2012-09-20 15:46:43 UTC
Description of problem:

The NFC kernel subsystem is disabled with the latest Fedora kernels.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
F17

NFC is now found on most recent Android phones and high end laptops, but the NFC kernel support for F17 is disabled. The NFC daemon can't run without it, preventing applications to do NFC through its D-Bus API.
Apps can also do NFC p2p with e.g.Android phones by using the kernel NFC LLCP sockets, and obviously this can't be achieved without kernel support.
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

This was enabled in F17 around the time we rebased to 3.6.1.
