Description of problem: Say foo is a symlink to /mnt/bar and a fuse filesystem is mounted on /mnt/bar. fusermount -u foo then fails with an error that $PWD/foo cannot be found in /etc/mtab. I noticed this with sshfs. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): fuse-2.8.7-1.fc17 How reproducible: always Additional info: fusermount should resolve symlinks before looking into /etc/mtab.
I think this is a feature but I'm not sure. This recalls me a discussion about a couple of years ago regarding a possible issue with symlinks in fuse - unfortunately I don't remember any details.
