I only opened gnome-pied for the first time backtrace_rating: 4 Package: gnome-pie-0.5.3-2.20120826git1b93e1.fc18 OS Release: Fedora release 18 (Spherical Cow)
The same error occurs when compiling Gnome-Pie from source code at GitHub.
Same here (segfault on first start). Could the maintainer perhaps report this upstream?
Up-Stream already notified and again mailed to follow-up, if there some update from upstream side, will update package accordingly.
Hey there! I just fixed a bug which might have caused this issue. Can you have a look at the current master branch at github and report whether something has changed?
Hey Simon, Thanks for follow-up, I will do the testing with latest github branch and let you know.

Hey Simon, I complied latest Source from and still not able to run gnome-pie for fedora-18, please have a look to attached log file.
I just released Gnome-Pie 0.5.5 which contains a fix for this issue!
just start it backtrace_rating: 4 cmdline: gnome-pie crash_function: __memcpy_ssse3_back executable: /usr/bin/gnome-pie kernel: 3.8.3-201.fc18.x86_64 package: gnome-pie-0.5.3-2.20120826git1b93e1.fc18 reason: Process /usr/bin/gnome-pie was killed by signal 11 (SIGSEGV) uid: 1000 ureports_counter: 1 xsession_errors:
Just tested compiling Gnome-Pie from latest source code available at GitHub and the new version 0.5.5 solves the problem (tested in Fedora 18 with kernel 3.8.4-202.fc18.x86_64). Just waiting the Fedora package to be updated.
Praveen, could you issue an update? Thanks.
Salim, Gnome-Pie uses bamf3 as a dependency and for f-19 it's already orphaned, if someone can take this package and build it for f-19 I will issue an update for gnome-pie. For f-18 I will try to update this package during weekend. Announcement: http://lists.fedoraproject.org/pipermail/devel/2013-March/179338.html

Let me try an F-18 build first once you update it, and if it looks good I'll commit to taking over bamf3. Thanks!

This message is a reminder that Fedora 18 is nearing its end of life. Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 18. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as WONTFIX if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '18'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version prior to Fedora 18's end of life. Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we may not be able to fix it before Fedora 18 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora version prior to Fedora 18's end of life. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete.
Fedora 18 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2014-01-14. Fedora 18 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug. If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the current release. If you experience problems, please add a comment to this bug. Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
