Description of problem: I see a lot of pki-ca SELinux denials after IPA configuration. /var/log/audit.log: type=SYSCALL msg=audit(1352189211.577:270): arch=c000003e syscall=6 success=no exit=-13 a0=7f9d2ba6a7c0 a1=7f9d2ba69680 a2=7f9d2ba69680 a3=61636d6f742f6572 items=0 ppid=1 pid=26620 auid=4294967295 uid=0 gid=0 euid=0 suid=0 fsuid=0 egid=0 sgid=0 fsgid=0 tty=(none) ses=4294967295 comm="java" exe="/usr/lib/ jvm/java-1.7.0-openjdk-1.7.0.9.x86_64/jre/bin/java" subj=system_u:system_r:pki_tomcat_t:s0 key=(null) type=AVC msg=audit(1352189211.577:271): avc: denied { getattr } for pid=26620 comm="java" path="/var/lib/tomcat" dev="dm-0" ino=163765 scontext=system_u:system_r:pki_tomcat_t:s0 tcontext=system_u:object_r:tomcat_var_lib_t:s0 tclass=dir type=SYSCALL msg=audit(1352189211.577:271): arch=c000003e syscall=6 success=no exit=-13 a0=7f9d2ba6a7c0 a1=7f9d2ba69680 a2=7f9d2ba69680 a3=61636d6f742f6572 items=0 ppid=1 pid=26620 auid=4294967295 uid=0 gid=0 euid=0 suid=0 fsuid=0 egid=0 sgid=0 fsgid=0 tty=(none) ses=4294967295 comm="java" exe="/usr/lib/ jvm/java-1.7.0-openjdk-1.7.0.9.x86_64/jre/bin/java" subj=system_u:system_r:pki_tomcat_t:s0 key=(null) type=AVC msg=audit(1352189211.577:272): avc: denied { getattr } for pid=26620 comm="java" path="/var/lib/tomcat" dev="dm-0" ino=163765 scontext=system_u:system_r:pki_tomcat_t:s0 tcontext=system_u:object_r:tomcat_var_lib_t:s0 tclass=dir type=SYSCALL msg=audit(1352189211.577:272): arch=c000003e syscall=6 success=no exit=-13 a0=7f9d2ba6a7c0 a1=7f9d2ba69680 a2=7f9d2ba69680 a3=61636d6f742f6572 items=0 ppid=1 pid=26620 auid=4294967295 uid=0 gid=0 euid=0 suid=0 fsuid=0 egid=0 sgid=0 fsgid=0 tty=(none) ses=4294967295 comm="java" exe="/usr/lib/ jvm/java-1.7.0-openjdk-1.7.0.9.x86_64/jre/bin/java" subj=system_u:system_r:pki_tomcat_t:s0 key=(null) type=AVC msg=audit(1352189211.581:273): avc: denied { search } for pid=26620 comm="java" name="tomcat" dev="dm-0" ino=163765 scontext=system_u:system_r:pki_tomcat_t:s0 tcontext=system_u: object_r:tomcat_var_lib_t:s0 tclass=dir type=SYSCALL msg=audit(1352189211.581:273): arch=c000003e syscall=4 success=no exit=-13 a0=7f9d302c0020 a1=7f9d2ba6b730 a2=7f9d2ba6b730 a3=61636d6f742f6572 items=0 ppid=1 pid=26620 auid=4294967295 uid=0 gid=0 euid=0 suid=0 fsuid=0 egid=0 sgid=0 fsgid=0 tty=(none) ses=4294967295 comm="java" exe="/usr/lib/ jvm/java-1.7.0-openjdk-1.7.0.9.x86_64/jre/bin/java" subj=system_u:system_r:pki_tomcat_t:s0 key=(null) type=SERVICE_START msg=audit(1352189212.500:274): pid=1 uid=0 auid=4294967295 ses=4294967295 subj=system_u:system_r:init_t:s0 msg=' comm="kadmin" exe="/usr/lib/systemd/systemd" hostname=? addr=? terminal=? res=success' type=SERVICE_START msg=audit(1352189214.114:275): pid=1 uid=0 auid=4294967295 ses=4294967295 subj=system_u:system_r:init_t:s0 msg=' comm="ipa_memcached" exe="/usr/lib/systemd/systemd" hostname=? addr=? terminal=? res=success' type=AVC msg=audit(1352189214.521:276): avc: denied { search } for pid=26620 comm="java" name="tomcat" dev="dm-0" ino=163765 scontext=system_u:system_r:pki_tomcat_t:s0 tcontext=system_u: object_r:tomcat_var_lib_t:s0 tclass=dir Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): pki-ca-10.0.0-0.48.b2.fc18.noarch selinux-policy-3.11.1-46.fc18.noarch selinux-policy-targeted-3.11.1-46.fc18.noarch How reproducible: Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install freeipa-server package 2. Run ipa-server-install 3. Actual results: IPA and pki-ca is configured and basic CA functionality seems to be working fine, but these AVC are disturbing and may cause some issue within pki functionality I have not found yet. Expected results: No AVC after pki-ca configuration. Additional info:
I see it got Orphan Owner assigned... Assigning it at least to Ade to distribute the bug further (or re-assign to system SELinux policy).
This message is a reminder that Fedora 18 is nearing its end of life. Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 18. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as WONTFIX if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '18'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version prior to Fedora 18's end of life. Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we may not be able to fix it before Fedora 18 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora version prior to Fedora 18's end of life. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete.
Fedora 18 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2014-01-14. Fedora 18 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug. If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the current release. If you experience problems, please add a comment to this bug. Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
