RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description Xiaowei Li 2012-11-21 03:08:22 UTC
Description of problem:

Can we support to create the wwn alias which is the general function of the storage array.

It will benefit the users that they don't have to always remember which wwn is belong which initiator.

The following is the layout of netapp wwn alias ( they call it igoup ).
It can assign multiple WWNs to one igroup.

na3170a> igroup show

Comment 1 Andy Grover 2012-11-21 20:08:10 UTC
I split out Eng bug for initiator group support into bug 879015.

This enh bug is just for wwn aliases, being able to assign a friendly name to WWNs or iqns, so there is less typing, and the identity of the initiator can be clearer.

Comment 3 Andy Grover 2013-07-03 18:30:04 UTC
should be in, using tag and untag commands under 'acls'.

Comment 4 Bruno Goncalves 2013-10-04 09:22:06 UTC
The tag seems to work on 3.10.0-31.el7.x86_64 and targetcli-2.1.fb30-1.el7.noarch

targetcli /iscsi/iqn.2009-10.com.redhat:storage-1/tpg1/acls create iqn.2009-10.com.redhat:storage-test
Created Node ACL for iqn.2009-10.com.redhat:storage-test

  | o- acls .......................................................................................................... [ACLs: 1]
  | | o- iqn.2009-10.com.redhat:storage-test .................................................................. [Mapped LUNs: 1]
  | | o- mapped_lun1 ......................................................................... [lun1 fileio/target1-lun1 (rw)]

  | o- acls .......................................................................................................... [ACLs: 1]
  | | o- iqn-storage-test ............................................. [(iqn.2009-10.com.redhat:storage-test) , Mapped LUNs: 1]
  | | o- mapped_lun1 ......................................................................... [lun1 fileio/target1-lun1 (rw)]

targetcli /iscsi/iqn.2009-10.com.redhat:storage-1/tpg1/acls create iqn.2009-10.com.redhat:storage-test2
Created Node ACL for iqn.2009-10.com.redhat:storage-test2

targetcli /iscsi/iqn.2009-10.com.redhat:storage-1/tpg1/acls tag iqn.2009-10.com.redhat:storage-test2 iqn-storage-test

  | o- acls .......................................................................................................... [ACLs: 1]
  | | o- iqn-storage-test ...................................................................... [(group of 2) , Mapped LUNs: 1]
  | | o- mapped_lun1 ......................................................................... [lun1 fileio/target1-lun1 (rw)]

but how can I list the IQNs in the group?

targetcli /iscsi/iqn.2009-10.com.redhat:storage-1/tpg1/acls/iqn-storage-test ls
o- iqn-storage-test ................................................................................ [(group of 2) , Mapped LUNs: 1]
  o- mapped_lun1 ................................................................................... [lun1 fileio/target1-lun1 (rw)]

Comment 5 Andy Grover 2013-10-04 16:49:47 UTC
the 'info' command will list iqns in the group.

Comment 6 Bruno Goncalves 2013-10-07 08:39:46 UTC
Thank you, it works fine.
