The license field in this spec file is incorrect and dangerous. A BSD license field implies that one can safely link proprietary applications with this library. That is *not* the case with libdb. It's a very BSD-like license, but note this sneaky clause: * 3. Redistributions in any form must be accompanied by information on * how to obtain complete source code for the DB software and any * accompanying software that uses the DB software. The source code Note the "any accompanying software that uses the DB software" - that makes this very non-BSD and lures the user into a false sense of security that they can use it freely, when that's not the case.

Confirmed. The proper License tag for libdb should be: License: Sleepycat and BSD I've fixed this in rawhide (5.3.21-4.fc19).
