Description of problem: The listing of the only supported file systems is incorrect. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Fedora 17 How reproducible: Steps to Reproduce: 1. http://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/Fedora/17/html/Installation_Guide/ch-grub.html 2. Bottom of the page "Important - Supported file systems" Actual results: Only ext[234] are supported. Cannot use any other file system for /boot. Expected results: Does not apply. I have tested Fedora 17 and 18 with /boot on btrfs, XFS, FAT32, and HFS+ and all of them work. Additional info: There might be some limits to GRUB Legacy EFI, used in Fedora 17. XFS, FAT32, and HFS+ do work, unsure of Btrfs. Simple fix is to remove the whole side bar.
Also a problem in draft Fedora 18 documentation. http://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/Fedora_Draft_Documentation/0.1/html/Installation_Guide/ch-grub.html
Thanks for reporting this, Chris. I've removed all 3 instances of this admonition. You can view the commit here: http://git.fedorahosted.org/cgit/docs/install-guide.git/commit/?id=6e33b2bd138f6eda87a01972d6f543aa870dc53e
