Description of problem:
I'm installing a perl scrip that worked fine on rh73 to a rh9 box... I get this error :

install_driver(mysql) failed: Can't load '/usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.0/i386-linux-thread-multi/auto/DBD/mysql/mysql.so' for module DBD::mysql: /usr/lib/libmysqlclient.so.10: symbol errno, version GLIBC_2.0 not defined in file libc.so.6 with link time reference at /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.0/i386-linux-thread-multi/DynaLoader.pm line 229.

I've installed perl-DBI-1.32-5.i386.rpm and perl-DBD-MySQL-2.1021-3.i386.rpm

I've tried installing manually, I get the following error after perl Makefile.PL.

Comment 1 Chip Turner 2003-04-16 17:01:27 UTC
are you sure the perl, DBI, and DBD::MySQL you're using on the RH9 box are all
the RPMs as shipped by Red Hat? Sounds like there is some mix that isn't.

Comment 2 Frantzcy Paisible 2003-04-16 19:10:41 UTC
Yes,

I installed the rpms, and via CPAN ...

Comment 3 Warren Togami 2005-05-28 07:22:05 UTC
Closing due to lack of activity and likely fixed in modern perl. If this is
still an issue in RHEL4, FC3 or FC4 please open a new bug with new test
information and exact versions of packages.
