Description javierwilson 2012-12-26 02:08:54 UTC
Description of problem: autocreate feature provided by an external patch no longer works in version 2.4.14.
I can see author has not yet released a patch for versions 2.4.x (see http://email.uoa.gr/projects/cyrus/autocreate/)
However, there are some patches available here: http://blog.vx.sk/archives/13-Autocreate-and-autosieve-patches-for-Cyrus-IMAP-Server-24.html

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 2.4.14-1

How reproducible: everytime

Steps to Reproduce:
1. set autocreatequota to something > 0
2. create user
3. login

Actual results: No INBOX warning.

Expected results: INBOX created automatically by Cyrus.

Additional info: I find it confusing that there is a file in the documentation called README.autocreate-cyrus-2.3 because it does not apply to version 2.4. I suggest to remove this file or change the version from 2.3 to 2.4 if the patch is applied

Original author no longer maintains this script and cyrus-imapd upstream has been asked for inclusion a long time ago, but it's still just being considered.
https://bugzilla.cyrusimap.org/show_bug.cgi?id=355

That's the reason this feature was removed from our packages, see rpm changelog for first 2.4.x version (Feb 10 2011 - 2.4.6).

That README file is just a relic and will be removed.
