Red Hat Bugzilla – Bug 893318
'man qemu' should be replaced by "man qemu-kvm"
Last modified: 2014-06-17 23:20:32 EDT
Description of problem:
Currently, the rhel7 qemu-kvm help is "man qemu" not "man qemu-kvm", to make clear and distinguish from other qemu based command, "man qemu" should be replaced by "man qemu-kvm" just like previous rhel version.
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
qemu-kvm version is qemu-kvm-1.3.0-3.el7.x86_64
Steps to Reproduce:
1.To see the help of qemu-kvm
# man qemu-kvm
No manual entry for qemu-kvm
No entry when using "man qemu-kvm", but can get it by "man qemu".
replace "man qemu" by "man qemu-kvm"
Related patches in RHEL6 qemu-kvm:
# Change datadir to /usr/share/qemu-kvm
# Install manpage as qemu-kvm(1)
# Change SASL server name to qemu-kvm

Do we really need all these patches? Cause current rhel7 uses /usr/share/qemu. Or want we change this so qemu-kvm is used??? This would require more complex fix that can be copied from RHEL6.
Yes, everything that refers to qemu should use qemu-kvm.
Fixed in version qemu-kvm-1.4.0-3.el7.x86_64.rpm
Test this bug with latest qemu-kvm, this bug has been fixed.
[root@amd-B95-8-1 ~]# rpm -qa |grep qemu
[root@amd-B95-8-1 ~]# man qemu
No manual entry for qemu
[root@amd-B95-8-1 ~]# man qemu-kvm
