Happened the same on a new Dell Inspiron with Fedora 18 LXDE. I had recently installed rfkill to unlock the wireless.
Network manager has been updated to the lastest version, but this problem persists.

The computer was connected to a wireless. After some time, it will stop seeing any network at all (even though there are more than 10 in my building), and will not connect back until the computer is restarted.
