Description Pavel Shumskii 2013-02-26 15:08:51 UTC
Description of problem:

After upgrade GNU screen to version screen.i686 0:4.1.0-0.14.20120314git3c2946.fc18 , all russian symbols are replaced with questions marks. Downgrade to version screen.i686 0:4.1.0-0.12.20120314git3c2946.fc18 solved the problem. This bug works while running screen both XTerm and lxterminal.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

On my computer there is no bug visible in screen.i686 0:4.1.0-0.12.20120314git3c2946.fc18 and there is one in screen.i686 0:4.1.0-0.14.20120314git3c2946.fc18.

How reproducible:

Upgrading back to screen.i686 0:4.1.0-0.14.20120314git3c2946.fc18 unsolves the bug again.

I found a solution by myself.

After upgrading screen to version 4.1.0-0.14.20120314git3c2946.fc18 i have quit all my active screen sessions and opened new screen again. All characters are now shown as normal.

The solution is: do screen -wipe to erase sockdir and re-open all screens again.

I think, that there is no error in screen itself. Sessions files, created by previous versions of screen could work not well with new version of screen.
