Description of problem: We've had tomcat-7.x in Fedora for a few releases already and it's time to deprecate tomcat6. At one point we almost managed to get rid of all packages that needed tomcat6 (bug 819505), but in past few months new packages popped up that are using old interfaces when tomcat-7.x provides same APIs (few minor tweaks needed in packages using them). Only way to stop proliferation of these dependencies is deprecation. Tomcat6 currently has 18 bugs opened including 4 security issues (873703, 883675, 883690, 883702). Please deprecate tomcat6 in rawhide and follow procedures outlined in https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/How_to_remove_a_package_at_end_of_life or just orphan tomcat6 and let one of members of Java SIG take care of it.
To be clear I consider this start of unresponsive maintainer policy as described in http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Package_maintainer_policy#What_to_do_if_a_maintainer_is_absent
Note that I have sent email to fedora-devel ML about this [1] [1] http://lists.fedoraproject.org/pipermail/devel/2013-March/179847.html
Deprecated.
