(saw this while running evo from a term - it crashes every other minute today
but I suspect another bit of RawHide is causing crashes)

The mail you received had a very bogus charset... it said it was iso8859-1, but
had some of the weird Windows charset characters, so the best guess is cp1252,
which wasn't quite right either and so it couldn't be converted to a canonical
utf-8 form.  Not much that can be done.  If you have a specific message that
causes it, file it upstream at bugzilla.ximian.com and more workarounds might be

No problem. I just noticed it while searching for something else, and do not
actually care about it.
