Looks like the shell is somehow leaking fds for /usr/share/gnome-shell/search-providers
"Process /usr/bin/gnome-shell was killed by signal 5 (SIGTRAP) - abrt" just occurred to me with gnome-shell-3.8.4-2.fc19

Look at open_fds - it tells the story.
