It seems that you need to plug the physical cable into eth1 on the mainboard and the kernel will recognize the port as eth0. I never did get anything to work properly in the physical eth0 port on the mainboard. Further when installing via DHCP you need to let DHCP fail on both eth0 and eth1 before the interface will finally come up on eth0 the second time. After install this is no longer a problem. -XFree86 rpm's didn't install properly, install using the 'server' configuration. -When using redhat's overloaded FTP server I got the following error during install: <4> anaconda[10] general protection rip: 2a95d10bd0 rsp: 7fbfffe248 error 0 -When everything was installed and running: the following process was found in top CPU0 states: 0.0% user 0.0% system 0.0% nice 0.0% iowait 100.0% idle CPU1 states: 0.0% user 0.0% system 0.0% nice 0.0% iowait 100.0% idle Mem: 1004864k av, 56820k used, 948044k free, 0k shrd, 12188k buff 17276k active, 20244k inactive Swap: 2040244k av, 0k used, 2040244k free 19652k cached PID USER PRI NI SIZE RSS SHARE STAT %CPU %MEM TIME CPU COMMAND 1 root 11 0 524 524 448 S 0.0 0.0 0:04 1 init 2 root 9 0 0 0 0 SW 0.0 0.0 0:00 0 keventd 3 root 18 19 0 0 0 SWN 0.0 0.0 0:00 0 ksoftirqd_CPU 4 root 18 19 0 0 0 SWN 0.0 0.0 0:00 1 ksoftirqd_CPU 5 root 9 0 0 0 0 SW 0.0 0.0 0:00 0 kswapd 6 root 9 0 0 0 0 SW 0.0 0.0 0:00 1 bdflush 7 root 9 0 0 0 0 SW 0.0 0.0 0:00 0 kupdated 8 root 18446744073709551615 -20 0 0 0 SW< 0.0 0.0 0:00 14 root 9 0 0 0 0 SW 0.0 0.0 0:00 1 scsi_eh_0 15 root 9 0 0 0 0 SW 0.0 0.0 0:00 0 kjournald 73 root 9 0 0 0 0 SW 0.0 0.0 0:00 1 khubd 1694 root 9 0 0 0 0 SW 0.0 0.0 0:00 1 kjournald 2031 root 9 0 1196 1196 724 S 0.0 0.1 0:00 1 dhclient 2251 root 9 0 652 652 540 S 0.0 0.0 0:00 0 syslogd 2255 root 9 0 476 476 400 S 0.0 0.0 0:00 0 klogd upon taxing the server we stopped further testing when we got the following error: northbridge machine exception f405210000000a13 0 NB error condition status f405210000000a13 GART error 3 error address 000000002182b798 address 000000002182b798 MCE at EIP ffffffff8010cebf ESP 10037ffbfc8
