Foreman Issue Tracker 3090 0 'Normal' 'Closed' 'new puppetclass creation fails when adding smart variable' 2019-11-19 15:16:58 UTC

Description Corey Welton 2013-06-12 17:38:46 UTC
Description of problem:
When I apparently create a new puppet class, nothing shows up in the puppet class view afterwards, nor are any errors thrown.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:
1. More > Configuration > Puppet Classes
2. New Puppet Class
3. Puppet Class > Class name = "fibble" ; select a host group
Smart Class Parameter > (nothing in here, though it points to something seemingly non existent, another bug?)
    Smart Variables > Add Variable
Provide values for Parameter, Description and Default value
    Submit
4. View list of Puppet Classes
5. Attempt to create a new puppet class w/o setting up any smart variables.

Actual results:
When user tries to create a puppet class with a smart variable, there is no error message, but no new puppet class appears in UI.

Expected results:
A successful creation, and/or an error as to why it failed.

Comment 1 Corey Welton 2013-06-12 17:52:53 UTC
Interestingly, it seems you can add stuff later, after initially creating the puppet class. but you cannot add at class creation time.
