Red Hat Bugzilla – Bug 986085
[abrt] man-db-2.6.3-6.fc19: main: Process /usr/bin/man was killed by signal 6 (SIGABRT)
Last modified: 2013-09-27 20:24:01 EDT
Description of problem:
I started man with option -M, possibly with an invalid path. I tried different paths for
man -M /path/to/man/pages appname
but all of them fail with a crash. If the given path was invalid, man should at least fail gracefully and give the user a hint.
Version-Release number of selected component:
cmdline: man -M /usr/avr/share/man 3 sleep
runlevel: N 5

Steps to reproduce:
mkdir -p tmp/man
man -M man foo
cmdline: man -M man foo
reason: Process /usr/bin/man was killed by signal 6 (SIGABRT)
runlevel: N 5
This was fixed in man-db 2.6.4-1 by removing an incorrect change from a Fedora patch (man-db-2.6.3-valgrind.patch).
I'm sorry for delay, I'll do an update of man-db soon.

Another month has passed and this bug is still unfixed in f19.
yup...confirmed as of today, man-db *still* not updated; @version 2.6.3-6.fc19
Ah, thanks for the ping, I've been too busy lately. I'll do an update tomorrow.
