Comment 5 Jaroslav Škarvada 2013-08-21 13:15:52 UTC
Hibernation is no longer handled by pm-utils but by systemd (i.e. the systemctl). But in this case it seems to be kernel where it fails, reassigning.

With the newest kernel (3.10.9-200.fc19.x86_64) same failure.
Same on two different Laptops.

*********** MASS BUG UPDATE **************

We apologize for the inconvenience. There is a large number of bugs to go through and several of them have gone stale. Due to this, we are doing a mass bug update across all of the Fedora 19 kernel bugs.

Fedora 19 has now been rebased to 3.11.1-200.fc19. Please test this kernel update and let us know if you issue has been resolved or if it is still present with the newer kernel.

If you experience different issues, please open a new bug report for those.

I have a similar or identical problem. I previously had fc18 x86 installed and fc17 before that on my acer laptop, and hibernate worked fine (clicked from the MATE desktop 'System->Shut down' menu option).

After recent clean install of fc19 x86 the system crashes after I click 'Hibernate.' The screen goes black for a few seconds, then comes back on (without being responsive) then the system crashes a few seconds later. This happens every time I hibernate; sleep works fine.

Kernel is 3.11.3-201.fc19.x86_64

For three such crashes, /var/log/messages says-

Sep 26 10:39:15 localhost NetworkManager[986]: <info> sleep requested (sleeping: no enabled: yes)

Comment 10 Andreas Reschke 2013-10-15 14:17:33 UTC
Hi there,

with kernel 3.11.4-201.fc19.x86_64 hibernate is working, so we can close this bug.

Thanks
Andreas
