Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities were found in will_paginate gem for Ruby, where certain input related to generated pagination links were not properly sanitised before being returned. This could be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site. The vulnerabilities are reported to be fixed in version 3.0.5. Created rubygem-will_paginate tracking bugs for this issue: Affects: fedora-all [bug 1046644]
CVE Request: http://seclists.org/oss-sec/2013/q4/550
This [1] is the only commit in 3.0.5 which seems to be relevant to this CVE. If that is true, than this CVE does not affect Ruby on Rails applications, while it might affects Sinatra or Padrino applications (but Padrino is not available in Fedora). I've asked upstream about it. See comments on commit https://github.com/mislav/will_paginate/commit/c62c6f68a5e5e00a13ded984a4a3a79b41f9ce4b#commitcomment-5024366 and upstream has confirmed this is the commit.
(In reply to Jordi Massaguer Pla from comment #6) Yes, I saw it. Thank you for heads up. BTW I already fixed the Fedora builds.
