Description Huzaifa S. Sidhpurwala 2014-06-10 02:28:10 UTC
Mozilla developers and community identified identified and fixed several memory safety bugs in the browser engine used in Firefox and other Mozilla-based products. Some of these bugs showed evidence of memory corruption under certain circumstances, and we presume that with enough effort at least some of these could be exploited to run arbitrary code.

In general these flaws cannot be exploited through email in the Thunderbird product because scripting is disabled, but are potentially a risk in browser or browser-like contexts.

Gary Kwong, Christoph Diehl, Christian Holler, Hannes Verschore, Jan de Mooij, Ryan VanderMeulen, Jeff Walden, and Kyle Huey reported memory safety problems and crashes that affect Firefox ESR 24.5 and Firefox 29.
