Doc Type: Bug Fix
Doc Text:
It was found that the Linux kernel's ISO file system implementation did not correctly limit the traversal of Rock Ridge extension Continuation Entries (CE). An attacker with physical access to the system could use this flaw to trigger an infinite loop in the kernel, resulting in a denial of service.

Description Prasad Pandit 2014-12-17 10:57:21 UTC
Linux kernel built with the iso9660 file system(CONFIG_ISO9660_FS) support is
vulnerable to an infinite recursion loop flaw, which could lead to a crash or
render a system unresponsive/unusable after a while. The occurs while mounting
an iso9660 image.

An unprivileged user/process could use this flaw to crash the system resulting
in DoS.
