Vulnerability in the MySQL Server product of Oracle MySQL (component: Server: Optimizer). Supported versions that are affected are 5.7.26 and prior and 8.0.16 and prior. Easily exploitable vulnerability allows high privileged attacker with network access via multiple protocols to compromise MySQL Server. Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in unauthorized ability to cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash (complete DOS) of MySQL Server.

Even though this CVE was listed in Oracle's Oct 2019 CPU, it is listed as fixed in versions 5.7.27 and 8.0.17, which were released with Jul 2019 CPU.

The MySQL 8.0 packages as shipped in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 and Red Hat Software Collections were previously updated to the fixed version 8.0.17 via the following errata:
