Description Zack Miele 2023-08-17 17:55:54 UTC
xterm before 380 supports ReGIS reporting for character-set names even if they have unexpected characters (i.e., neither alphanumeric nor underscore), leading to a pointer/overflow issue.

Comment 2 TEJ RATHI 2023-08-23 10:29:06 UTC
Created xterm tracking bugs for this issue:

Affects: fedora-all [bug 2233770]

Comment 3 Thomas E. Dickey 2023-08-23 18:51:27 UTC
Redhat doesn't configure xterm using the (experimental) regis option

https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/xterm/blob/rawhide/f/xterm.spec

https://github.com/ThomasDickey/xterm-snapshots/blob/c2b36af8d216926b8931c6f9cebefd69228e437c/INSTALL#L536

so it's off-topic for this bug-tracking system.
