Description Dan F 2020-02-27 15:26:23 UTC
Description of problem:

All MinGW packages have gone missing from EPEL 7. I am building a CentOS 7 test machine based on an existing CentOS 7 installation. The existing installation has mingw64 packages installed from EPEL but these appear to no longer be in the repository. I know that MinGW-related packages were moved to a new repository for CentOS 8 but I'm not aware of an equivalent new repository for 7.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:

Completely

Steps to Reproduce:

Go to the EPEL package list. Navigate to the packages starting with "m". Observe that mingw is no longer in the repository.

Actual results:

Expected results:

Additional info:

I have looked at the mailing list for a notification that these packages were removed, but haven't found any announcement.

Comment 1 Richard W.M. Jones 2020-02-27 15:42:56 UTC
They were removed intentionally, see:
https://pagure.io/fesco/issue/2333

Please use Fedora for mingw development. Many of the EPEL 7 packages hadn't
been updated since 2014 and were full of security bugs and no one had stepped up to
do the massive amount of work that would have been required to maintain them.
