Description of problem: Libre.fm scrobbling is broken Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 1.5.2 How reproducible: Try to scrobble tracks to a Libre.fm account Steps to Reproduce: 1. Enter your Libre.fm credentials in the Last.fm plugin 2. Play a song 3. Check your Libre.fm profile Actual results: Song not scrobbled Expected results: Song should scrobble Additional info: I used this gconf switch to switch API reporting to turtle.libre.fm: http://git.gnome.org/cgit/banshee/commit/?h=stable&id=14dd6b5843a909613f337fc685940609b8c5bbac Everything works in Banshee 1.5.1 and it even scrobbled the songs I played in 1.5.2 retroactively as soon as I downgraded the package and started it up.
Still doesn't work in new banshee-1.5.3-0.1.20091216git.fc12.i686.

The support for libre.fm got broken when banshee started to migrate to the last.fm 2.0 API in 1.5.2: from the release notes of banshee 1.5.2: -------------------------------- Use new Last.fm 2.0 API Subscribers will once again be able to stream music from Last.fm. Unfortunately, Last.fm has changed its policies (and started enforcing them with the 2.0 API) such that non-subscribers cannot stream music via third party applications, including Banshee. -------------------------------- Especially the authentication itself is now completely different and so it is very likely that it does not work anymore. Fixing the problem seems to be a task which can only be done upstream. If you want to follow what happens to the bug, you can add yourself to the upstream report: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=579801 Since there is nothing which can be done from a packaging point of view, I'll close this bug for now. If upstream implements libre.fm support and the patch is small enough, a backport can be considered. Otherwise the support will just come automatically with a new version.
