With this enhancement update,a new option has been added to the geo-replication feature of Red Hat storage which enables to choose 'tar over ssh' as a sync engine.Executing "gluster volume geo-replication <master> <slave-host>::<slave> config use-tarssh true' triggers this option.

This option is not working. Tested with Version: glusterfs-3.4.0.39rhs-1.el6rhs.x86_64 I created 2 million files each of which are 500KB and even after 1 day and 20+ hours only 5000+ files are synced. Rest are not being synced. We have couple of bugs with this option and they are being tracked by different buzilla bugs. So moving this bug to verified. Now there is an option to sync the files through tar+ssh instead of rsync which used by default. Since the problem described in this bug report should be resolved in a recent advisory, it has been closed with a resolution of ERRATA. For information on the advisory, and where to find the updated files, follow the link below. If the solution does not work for you, open a new bug report. http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHBA-2013-1769.html |
