Another user experienced a similar problem:

Tried to do a SIPE audio test.

Comment 12 Brian J. Murrell 2014-01-05 07:15:24 UTC
This failure is pretty critical as it's my main means of voice communication in my office.

Comment 13 Brian J. Murrell 2014-01-05 07:16:20 UTC
Happened on x86_64 here.

Comment 14 Michael Cronenworth 2014-02-06 23:08:51 UTC
I'd suggest filing this bug upstream.

Comment 15 Jesse Brandeburg 2014-02-12 16:43:09 UTC
Me too, and this is still not fixed. You just have to try to connect to a voice call.

Did anyone file this upstream?

Comment 16 Jesse Brandeburg 2014-02-12 16:46:25 UTC
last update from sipe bug list is that this is not sipe caused:

quote from: https://sourceforge.net/p/sipe/bugs/230/#ee01/2a81

> Thanks for the backtrace. It shows that no code paths inside SIPE are involved > in this crash, just gstreamer & farstream.

Comment 17 Michael Cronenworth 2014-02-12 17:35:07 UTC
(In reply to Jesse Brandeburg from comment #16)
> quote from: https://sourceforge.net/p/sipe/bugs/230/#ee01/2a81

This leads to the farstream bug: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=71253

Farstream says it is Gstreamer but there is no open bug (that I can find) for this. Gst-plugins-ugly stopped 0.10 development from the looks of it. I filed a bug anyway.

https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=724244

Comment 18 Michael Cronenworth 2014-02-14 17:53:55 UTC
I rebuilt Pidgin and the SIPE plugin against gstreamer 1.0 and farstream 0.2. Unfortunately the crash still persists.
