Description bhesha 2013-12-09 03:30:36 UTC
Description of problem:
Error: cpu0 in package 0 has a measured frequency of 2495 MHz vs. a requirement of 2701 MHz (- 50 MHz tolerance)
Error: cpu1 in package 0 has a measured frequency of 2494 MHz vs. a requirement of 2701 MHz (- 50 MHz tolerance)
Error: cpu2 in package 0 has a measured frequency of 2494 MHz vs. a requirement of 2701 MHz (- 50 MHz tolerance)
Error: cpu3 in package 0 has a measured frequency of 2494 MHz vs. a requirement of 2701 MHz (- 50 MHz tolerance)
Error: cpu4 in package 0 has a measured frequency of 2494 MHz vs. a requirement of 2701 MHz (- 50 MHz tolerance)
Error: cpu5 in package 0 has a measured frequency of 2494 MHz vs. a requirement of 2701 MHz (- 50 MHz tolerance)
Error: cpu6 in package 0 has a measured frequency of 2494 MHz vs. a requirement of 2701 MHz (- 50 MHz tolerance)
Error: cpu7 in package 0 has a measured frequency of 2494 MHz vs. a requirement of 2701 MHz (- 50 MHz tolerance)

We use below configuration
Test machine: Intel QM87 chipset+intel CPU i7-4800MQ
OS: RHEL server v2.6.32-431.el6.x86_64 GNOME2.28.2
Test suite: v7-1.6.4-22.el6, v7-server-1.6.4-22.el6, dt-15.14-2.EL6, stress-0.18.8-1.3.EL6, lmbench-3.0a7-6a.EL6

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install RHEL server v2.6.32-431.el6.x86_64 GNOME2.28.2 to test machine
2. Install v7 Test suite
3. Run info test as below:
v7 run --test=cpuscaling --debug=low

Actual results:
Fail

Expected results:
Pass

Hi,

According to the CPU registers the CPU is not achieving the claimed 2.7GHz but only getting to 2.5GHz. Typically the best place to look is in the BIOS and/or the BIOS team for the system to determine why this happens.
