more info: the wireless connection works. Only em1 is a problem. Also, mate-netspeed and gkrellm have the same problem. Only wireless works, no LAN. So, is this really a network-manager or driver issue? Might be the same as ubuntu launchpad bug: Bug #1241894 I can't reproduce it here with my network card, so i forwarded it to upstream.
