Hi

The package unfortunately needs to go to non-free because an exception clause from LGPL.

"Packages hep.aida.*

... the terms of the LGPL License, with the exception that any usage related to military applications is expressly forbidden"

see http://acs.lbl.gov/software/colt/license.html

Please, use

Source0: http://acs.lbl.gov/software/colt/colt-download/releases/colt-1.2.0.tar.gz

Comment 2 Robert Rati 2014-02-06 20:46:58 UTC
Maybe "LGPL with restrictions" is better for the license. The restrictions would need to be e-mailed to the legal team for acceptance. What governs if a package goes to non-free?

sorry, i dont know...
but you should open also an FPC exception for hep.aida

http://aida.freehep.org/

https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Packaging:No_Bundled_Libraries
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Packaging:No_Bundled_Libraries#Exceptions

i dont know if package hep.aida is an interface, i cant find the freehep aida source repository

I agree with gil, this software is non-free and cannot be included in Fedora, unless upstream is willing to relicense it under a free software license.

Comment 5 Robert Rati 2014-02-19 17:52:36 UTC
The licensing issues prevent this package from being included in Fedora. The independent aida package won't meet colt's needs either, so I am closing this review request.
