Description of problem:
>
I've updated my system on 2014.02.17. Then (after KDE session restart) the system tray view became ugly (see the screenshots): "modern" icons became proportional to the panel height, but the other icons (e.g. krusader, dropbox / etc.) remained the same size (as they were before update) but have been located higher than "modern" icons.

How reproducible:
>
Always.

Steps to Reproduce:
>
1. update the system (stable repos only);
2. restart KDE session;

Actual results:
>
The system tray view is ugly: "modern" icons are proportional to the panel height, the other icons (e.g. krusader, dropbox / etc.) are of normal size (as they were before update) but are located higher than "modern" icons.

Expected results:
>
The system tray view is OK: all the icons are of equal size, independently on the panel height.

Comment 2 carasin 2014-02-20 16:04:00 UTC
I've localized the problem. The issue has appeared after I had applied Open Sans font for KDE UI.

Comment 3 carasin 2014-02-20 16:05:36 UTC
Also, this issue is actual for KDE 4.12 that is now in 'updates' repo.

Comment 4 Lukáš Tinkl 2014-02-21 12:39:22 UTC
Looks like a corrupt Plasma icon cache, can you try removing it and restarting the session? (the cache is in ~/.kde/cache-<hostname>/*.kcache)

I removed ~/.kde/cache-<hostname>/*.kcache (4 files), changed KDE UI fonts to Open Sans (at systemsettings) and restarted KDE session. But it has not helped. Result is the same -- the tray has been corrupted.

This was an upstream change in kde-workspace-4.11.6 that is now being debated upstream.
