Then (after KDE session restart) the system tray view became ugly (see the screenshots): "modern" icons became proportional to the panel height, but the other icons (e.g. krusader, dropbox / etc.) remained the same size (as they were before update) but have been located higher than "modern" icons. I've localized the problem. The issue has appeared after I had applied Open Sans font for KDE UI.
Also, this issue is actual for KDE 4.12 that is now in 'updates' repo.
Looks like a corrupt Plasma icon cache, can you try removing it and restarting the session? (the cache is in ~/.kde/cache-<hostname>/*.kcache)
(In reply to Lukáš Tinkl from comment #4) > Looks like a corrupt Plasma icon cache, can you try removing it and > restarting the session? (the cache is in ~/.kde/cache-<hostname>/*.kcache) I removed ~/.kde/cache-<hostname>/*.kcache (4 files), changed KDE UI fonts to Open Sans (at systemsettings) and restarted KDE session. But it has not helped. Result is the same -- the tray has been corrupted.
This was an upstream change in kde-workspace-4.11.6 that is now being debated upstream. See: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=330807
