I can start hexchat without any prob from the panel in f21.
Can you start hexchat from a terminal or menu?

hi wolfgang, the problem is not when i can start hexchat or any app, if you see the video the problem is mate-panel because you delete any app from the panel this crash ( restart) , but i don't have problem for open the apps.

It seems that with latest updates (glib2-2.42.0-1.fc21) the issue with removing a applet is fixed. Can you confirm?
