Another user experienced a similar problem:

Description of the problem:
Reproduced a corner case where mate-panel 1.10.0-5 crashes

Version-release number of selected component:
mate-panel-1.10.0-5.fc23.i686

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to reproduce:
1. add an applet to the panel
2. block the applet on the panel
3. unblock the applet
4. remove the applet

Actual results:
mate-panel crashes, abrt catches the issue and the mate-panel is restored

Excepted results:
mate-panel should not crash

Additional information:
1. Testing Fedora 23 Nigthly 20150704 on qemu-kvm.
2. There are old issues that sound similar:

Please open a new report with all infos like stacetrace, etc.
AS a memember of QA you know where you find it on your system.
Please don't use alredy fixed reports which are fixed since 2014-04-01 :P

PS: Why you use such a offended name 'pigface'
Should i answer with 'hello........' ;)

Sorry, I relied on abrt which attached my comment on this old report instead of opening a new one. I'll file it as soon as possible.

I think that IT can drive people crazy if they can't smile :).
