Fixed In Version: 5.3.3 Doc Type: Bug Fix
Doc Text:
In the earlier version of CloudForms Management Engine, Frankfurt was not listed as an available region when attempting to add an Amazon EC2 cloud provider. This was because of an out dated region list for the provider. This issue was fixed by updating the region list to add the EU Frankfurt region. Customers are now able to select the Frankfurt region when adding an Amazon EC2 provider.

Verification Failed. Verified in 5.3.2.5.20141218144833_50406a5.

Drop down shows EU (Frankfrut), however adding the AWS credentials and validating it returns error message stating "Login failed due to a bad username or password."

Comment 4 Greg Blomquist 2015-01-06 20:20:46 UTC
I cannot reproduce this error locally.

Comment 5 Dave Johnson 2015-01-07 21:08:53 UTC
Working with Greg B, we did reproduce on a appliance and he is working on debugging it.

Comment 6 Greg Blomquist 2015-01-07 21:24:02 UTC
Based on this stackoverflow message http://stackoverflow.com/questions/26604640/authentication-failure-for-eu-central-1-frankfurt-aws, it looks like this depends on an updated AWS SDK, which just happened to be updated in Upstream for a different reason (https://github.com/ManageIQ/manageiq/pull/878).

This updated AWS SDK gem has *not* been pulled in Downstream yet.

Comment 9 Dave Johnson 2015-01-12 15:01:29 UTC
option there but requires a gem update meaning it will not work
