Description of problem:
I invoked pax as "pax -r -w -pe -X . /mnt/tmp" to copy my ~/.local/share/Steam into a larger disk volume.

My intention was: using read-write(pipe) mode, copy . to /mnt/tmp, preserve everything, except other device.

I hope we have a better error diag instead of segv.
