Description Samael 2015-01-29 18:14:33 UTC
On Fedora Packages page for monodevelop the current build is 2.8.8.4-8

https://apps.fedoraproject.org/packages/monodevelop/

this is pretty old, 5.5.4-2.1 is available. Can we get the latest stable version put into the repository?

If there is a reason for not being able to update to more recent builds due to some license restriction or technical issue then please advise or create a wiki page somewhere for it.

If it's any help there are some builds being done on opensuse build servers for current Fedora release:
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/tpokorra:/mono/

if it's just a matter of needing someone that's got the time to do it, please contact me as I'd be happy to help

This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 22 development cycle.
Changing version to '22'.

See https://copr.fedoraproject.org/coprs/tpokorra/mono for using the last version of monodevelop

Comment 3 Raphael Groner 2015-10-08 17:35:03 UTC
I stumble upon this legacy bug:
https://bugzilla.xamarin.com/show_bug.cgi?id=32162

Please provide a current monodevelop with the officially featured move to Mono 4 in Fedora 23.

Is this bug forgotten? We should expect to get an also current monodevelop with all those mono4 features, no? Please update ASAP.

As of today, latest release for the v5.10 series is 8 days old:
https://github.com/mono/monodevelop/archive/monodevelop-5.10.0.811.tar.gz

Propably regression of bug #1225201.

Comment 5 Raphael Groner 2015-10-09 10:07:11 UTC
My intention is to use the fix mentioned in the upstream bug, and it says to be fixed in v5.10 series:
https://bugzilla.xamarin.com/show_bug.cgi?id=32162

Can you at least please provide some Copr build of v5.10?

Comment 6 Claudio Rodrigo Pereyra DIaz 2015-10-09 11:17:46 UTC
I create a corp for alpha and beta channel
At the moment I package Mono 4.2 in https://copr.fedoraproject.org/coprs/elsupergomez/mono-alpha
And I have some problems build Monodevelop 5.10.x caused for libgit2sharp
When I can build I will push to copr. If you want to help are welcome, talk to me and will give access to the copr repo to build

For beta channel
