Description of problem: old version of cmake 2.8 has lots of bugs.


Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 2.8.11-4


Please update to 2.8.12.2 to fix various bugs.

El6 already has this update.

I second this.

For example, CPACK_RPM_EXCLUDE_FROM_AUTO_FILELIST is not in this version, making it impossible to "make package" usable RPMs with CPack. The directory /usr/lib64 is included in the package, which (of course) should not be there. RPM versions older than 4.8 don't care, but RPM has evolved since.

I'd like to stress that cmake 2.8.11 contains buggy pkg_check_modules from FindPkgConfig.

AND, the most interesting thing is, RHEL6 even has 2.8.12 already while RHEL7 is still behind. It's annoying.

Awesome, looks like 2.8.12.2 will resolve this upstream issue that affects me currently.

I misread that bug.  It appears that 2.8.12.2 is the first *affected* version.  It would be fantastic if this fix could get backported to the RHEL7 package.

Awesome, thanks Orion!  I'm definitely going to use cmake3 for the mariadb101u package I'm working on for IUS.  I gave that build a +1 karma to help it along.
