Description Karl Hastings 2015-06-19 13:22:10 UTC
Description of problem:
Customer reports the following spelling/grammar bugs:

Rule ID: xccdf_preupg_rule_others_vcsrepos_check_script
"Find Versin Control System repositories"
should be "Version"

Rule ID: xccdf_preupg_rule_packages_RemovedOptions_grep_check
"Some commandline options are removed or..."
needs space for "command line"

Rule ID: xccdf_preupg_rule_packages_RemovedOptions_util-linux_check
"Some commandline options are removed or deprecated in some packages. Print list of changes for util-linux."
needs space for "command line."
Also the "Print list of changes for util-linux." statement looks like a reminder for the developer...

Rule ID: xccdf_preupg_rule_system_grub_grub
"Content checks whether splash.xpm.gz file exists and backups them"
Maybe "... and if so, backs it up."

"INPLACERISK: SLIGHT: File splash.xpm.gz was backuped for inplace upgrade case and editing grub options"
Maybe "splash.xpm.gz was backed up to enable an inplace upgrade" ??

Comment 5 Alois Mahdal 2016-07-29 23:24:39 UTC
@pstodulk, no problem, but wouldn't that make this bug actually a duplicate of the others? My suggestion would be to close this and inform customer that the errors will be fixed (tracked by 2 separate tickets: bug 1253267 and bug 1360824).

I have verified thatcurrent repo (0d17e80) already contains fixes of problems reported by Karl above.

Comment 6 Petr Stodulka 2016-09-19 11:45:39 UTC
I guess not, because here are explicitly mentioned some typos and I prefer keep it opened now in this phase.

Comment 7 Alois Mahdal 2016-09-19 18:43:52 UTC
Added bug-specific static checks to /CoreOS/preupgrade-assistant-el6toel7/smoke/static

Comment 8 Alois Mahdal 2016-09-19 19:10:29 UTC
Ran on x86_64 with preupgrade-assistant-el6toel7-0.6.56-1.el6

All checks passed.
