I can get the desktop to render properly by forcing kwin to use its XRender backend. The system still locks up within the first minutes of doing anything, though. So, after also disabling OpenGL for applications by setting QT_XCB_FORCE_SOFTWARE_OPENGL=1 I now have a usable plasma5 system. Triaging to nouveau driver component. I've been playing with piglit a little to see what the OpenGL situation on my system is. Turns out it doesn't even pass the "sanity" test. For what it's worth, running other tests gets a lot of "pass", but also a good number of "fail" and eventually locks up the graphics and oopses the kernel. Effects with OpenGL 2.0 mostly working (except Blur) on Fedora 23 Alfa live CD. I tried to install F23 4.2.0 kernel in F22 but effects still broken with OpenGL. xorg-x11-drv-nouveau version 1.0.11 both in F22 and F23. Fedora 22 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2016-07-19. Fedora 22 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug. If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the current release. If you experience problems, please add a comment to this bug. Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed. |
