Description of problem:
First I install a f23 ppc64le TC1 on a multipath empty disk using "automatic configuration".
And second I tried to install again the same image on the same disk, also using "automatic configuration" with a "reclaim space" of all the disk space.

Comment 13 Menanteau Guy 2015-10-28 14:08:17 UTC
This multipath problem appears also on a VM machine.
First install on empty disks is successful and fedora is usable on the new created VM machine but if you try a second install using same disks, the second install will failed.

here after is the command I used to create the VM machine:

/usr/bin/qemu-system-ppc64 -name ppc64le_TC1 -enable-kvm -M pseries -smp 4 -m 4G -nographic -nodefaults -monitor stdio -serial pty -device virtio-net-pci,netdev=net10092,mac=c0:ff:ee:11:22:33 -netdev bridge,br=br0,id=net10092 -device virtio-scsi-pci,id=scsi -drive if=none,id=hda,file=hd1.qcow2,serial=0002 -device scsi-hd,drive=hda -drive if=none,id=hdb,file=hd2.qcow2,serial=0002 -device scsi-hd,drive=hdb -cdrom isole -boot d -S

Comment 14 Dan HorĂ¡k 2015-10-29 09:43:51 UTC
I think I saw the same problem in the past on x86 too, install with fresh disks works, an install with reused disks fails. The workaround is to "clean" the disk before the installation and similar workaround is recommended by Anaconda guys for other scenarios when disks are reused.

Another user experienced a similar problem:

Also seen on s390x and x86_64, F23 GA. Changing the Hardware field to "All"

An x86_64 VM created with the following commands:
$ dd if=/dev/zero of=mpath.img bs=1 count=1 seek=10G
$ qemu-kvm -m 2048 -device virtio-scsi-pci,id=scsi -drive if=none,id=hda,file=mpath.img,serial=0001 -device scsi-hd,drive=hda -drive if=none,id=hdb,file=mpath.img,serial=0001 -device scsi-hd,drive=hdb -cdrom Fedora-Server-DVD-x86_64-23.iso -boot d

The second installation failed.

Comment 17 Fedora End Of Life 2016-11-24 12:52:39 UTC
This message is a reminder that Fedora 23 is nearing its end of life.
Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining
and issuing updates for Fedora 23. It is Fedora's policy to close all
bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time
this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version'
of '23'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
to a later Fedora version.

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not
able to fix it before Fedora 23 is end of life. If you would still like
to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version
of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora
version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

Comment 18 Fedora End Of Life 2016-12-20 15:06:33 UTC
Fedora 23 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2016-12-20. Fedora 23 is
no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further
security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of
Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you
are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the
current release. If you experience problems, please add a comment to this
bug.

Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
