In the past I had issues with `--refresh` (Fedora 22) so I decided to go by forcing a complete sync of the local repos (hence the `dnf clean all` command); now that you mention it I will try it again and post back. I'll be on alert to any requirements you may have. Hey, So what happens is that if you provide "google-chrome" to dnf install, dnf will look for a package with this name in the enabled repositories. However, the google-chrome repository only contains the following packages (you can list them with "dnf repo-pkgs google-chrome list"): google-chrome-beta google-chrome-stable google-chrome-unstable Since there's no package simply named "google-chrome", dnf will interpret your request as a virtual provide and look for the package which provides it. All of the 3 mentioned packages do (you can list them with "dnf provides google-chrome"), so dnf will pick the newest package, which is google-chrome-beta. That said, if you want the latest stable version rather than beta, run "dnf install google-chrome-stable" instead. Let me know if that answers your question.
