Description Brent Nordquist 2000-06-26 11:53:39 UTC
During a custom graphical install of Winston Beta-2, the dialog
"Transferring install image to hard drive" was displayed. The progress bar
was between the words "to" and "hard" when the machine locked up -- could
not move the mouse, get to the VT's, or kill X with Ctrl+Alt+Back.

A second install using the same options worked fine... buggy hardware
driver perhaps?

[Intel Seattle 2 (100MHz) mobo, PII-450, 128MB RAM, Diamond Viper V550,
three ultra/wide SCSI disks (4.5, 4.5, 9GB) on Adaptec 2940UW controller,
one narrow SCSI CD-ROM, one IDE CD-RW drive, 3Com Etherlink 10/100 PCI
(3C905C-TX-M). Verified with lsmod that the 3c59x driver is being used for
the network hardware, NOT the buggy 3c90x one.]

Most likely a hardware issue - please reopen if this becomes reproducible.
