Description: Burp is a network backup and restore program, using client and server. It uses librsync in order to save network traffic and to save on the
amount of space that is used by each backup. It also uses VSS (Volume Shadow Copy Service) to make snapshots when backing up Windows computers.

v1.x is stated "stable" by the developper,
v2.x become more and more usable and receive all the development.
This is the burp 2.x version, to be provided along of the "burp" 1.x package(s).

I worked with Andrew Niemantsverdriet (FAS: kaptk2) on burp 1.x packaging (see its changelog).

Intended scope of this packaging: EPEL-6, EPLEL-7, F22, F23, F24, rawhide.
Builds are fine in COPR and I use this packaging under CentOS7 since weeks.

Comment 4 Fedora End Of Life 2016-07-19 20:00:57 UTC
Fedora 22 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2016-07-19. Fedora 22 is
no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further
security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of
Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you
are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the
current release. If you experience problems, please add a comment to this
bug.

Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.

Comment 5 Igor Gnatenko 2016-07-19 22:43:58 UTC
well, it was not reviewed/pushed, so reopening

Comment 6 yopito 2016-07-20 18:59:30 UTC
thanks for the reopening.

In the meantime, I've updated to burp 2.0.42:

Spec URL: https://github.com/yopito/fedora-epel-pkg/blob/master/burp2/SPECS/burp2.spec
SRPM URL: https://copr-be.cloud.fedoraproject.org/results/yopito/burp2/fedora-rawhide-x86_64/00365146-burp2/burp2-2.0.42-1.fc25.src.rpm

Hope that one day someone will take a look on it ...

Comment 7 IƱaki Ucar 2018-08-03 11:09:56 UTC
v1.x is no longer maintained upstream. Why not just update the burp package that is already part of Fedora? Did you reach its maintainers?

Comment 8 Package Review 2020-07-10 00:54:33 UTC
This is an automatic check from review-stats script.

This review request ticket hasn't been updated for some time. We're sorry
it is taking so long. If you're still interested in packaging this software
into Fedora repositories, please respond to this comment clearing the
NEEDINFO flag.

You may want to update the specfile and the src.rpm to the latest version
available and to propose a review swap on Fedora devel mailing list to increase
chances to have your package reviewed. If this is your first package and you
need a sponsor, you may want to post some informal reviews. Read more at
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/How_to_get_sponsored_into_the_packager_group.

Without any reply, this request will shortly be considered abandoned
and will be closed.
Thank you for your patience.
