Though this patch fixes the crash. Bigger question is how did loc->parent happen to contain "samba2". The rename is done in root directory and hence if there is a lookup on ".samba2", loc->parent should've been root.

1. We need more information on smb traffic during the test
2. Probably there is a bug in higher layers (smb-server, gfapi, smb-client etc) which fill wrong loc->parent (not ruling out dht is not modifying loc->parent, but highly unlikely).

regards,
Raghavendra

cluster/dht: initialize cbk before attempting inode-link

Otherwise inode-link failures in selfheal codepath will result in a
    crash.

This bug is getting closed because a release has been made available that should address the reported issue. In case the problem is still not fixed with glusterfs-3.9.0, please open a new bug report.

glusterfs-3.9.0 has been announced on the Gluster mailinglists [1], packages for several distributions should become available in the near future. Keep an eye on the Gluster Users mailinglist [2] and the update infrastructure for your distribution.
