Does it happen in xterm too? As for reproducing, you could record your session with script(1) and then cut the part which shows the problem. Sorry for not having responded earlier, but this bug seems nasty. So far, I only observing these issues on one machine (Intel i5-4570 with built-in graphics), but not on others. However, this doesn't mean much, as this is my primary machine, I am using every day. On this machine, with ncurses-6.0-6.20160709.fc24 and - kernel-4.5.x, I am not observing any problems. - kernel-4.6.5, I am observing "a larger number" of issues, seemingly accumulating with uptime (>> 24hrs). - kernel-4.6.6, so far I have observed "a smaller number" of issues, however insufficent uptime, yet, to know whether these are accumulating or not. All in all, I am currently inclined to blame the kernel or some other low-level graphic related package/library/driver ;) FYI, I believe to have found an ncurses-6.0-6.20160709.fc24 incompatibility which shows in xfce4-terminal: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1366824 It's apparently caused by the ncurses update to ncurses-6.0-6.20160709. This message is a reminder that Fedora 24 is nearing its end of life. Approximately 2 (two) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 24. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '24'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version. Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not able to fix it before Fedora 24 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above. If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version.
