Activities overview screenshot

Description of problem:
I noticed that when fedora 24 (even with F23) boots for the first time using a live image without being installed, the activities overview overlay the applications overview.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Gnome 3.20.2 under Fedora 24.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Boot fedora 24 or fedora 23 using a live image
2. Press windows key or click "activities" at top left corner
3. Click on "show applications" button
4. Press ESC key twice to go back to desktop

Actual results:
When press windows key again or "activities" at top left corner the activities overview overlay the applications overview, to fix it, I click on "show applications" button to display what's behind (applications overview) and then if I press ESC key again and going back it works as expected.

Expected results:
It shouldn't behave that way when pressing ESC key.

Additional info:
I'm not sure if this only happens with a live image or when fedora is already installed, also I'm not sure if it's because of the ESC key but I don't see any other reason.

Activities overview screencast

I was able to record a screencast that shows the issue better, also I can confirm the bug is present when pressing the ESC key twice to go back to desktop for the first time.

I just realized that the issue is not with the ESC key but the "show applications" button, this can be reproduced only when fedora boots for the first time from a live image, I'm not sure if it's possible to reproduce after a fresh system installation, this is how I found the bug:

1. Press windows key or click on Activities at the left top corner.

2. Press once "show applications" button, you'll see all the applications pre-installed in the live image.

3. Press "show applications" button once again, you'll notice that the applications icons won't go away.

4. Without leaving there, open any of the apps on the dock, for example, open files.

5. Once files is open, go back to activities overview using windows key or click on "Activities" at the left top corner.

6. You'll see now the activities overview overlay the applications overview.

7. To fix the issue, you need to click on "show applications" button again to display what's behind (applications overview), after that everything should work as it should, but I'm not sure if this happens again in other sessions.
