Not having a python34-markdown package available in EPEL7, causes the /usr/libexec/cgit/filters/html-converters/md2html filter in cgit to fail. python-markdown-2.4.1-2.el7 has been submitted as an update to Fedora EPEL 7. https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-EPEL-2017-edcffc40fe python-markdown-2.4.1-2.el7 has been pushed to the Fedora EPEL 7 testing repository. Description of problem: Python 3 is available in EPEL7 repository, so it is possible to make a python-markdown Python 3 package. You could also use %{python3_pkgversion} macro as you can see in http://pkgs.fedoraproject.org/cgit/rpms/python-gfm.git/tree/python-gfm.spec
